Mt. Baldy 2020

On March 2, 1949, two F6F Hellcats, flying out of El Toro and practicing instrument flying, in snowy conditions, slammed into Mt. San Antonio, instantly killing both pilots. <br />
From the main trail, Baldy Bowl Trail, the 1949 Hellcat crash wreckage can barely be seen. The first engine is at 9000' elevation. The second engine is at 9500'. This photo was taken from the trail at 9550'.<br />
