"Those are classic Doriopsilla gemela with eggs. The entire ribbon of D. gemela is attached to the reef, in contrast to the eggs of D. albopunctata, D. fulva, and D. davebehrensi, which are connected to the substrate only by their edge. The ribbon of D. bertschi is similar to D. gemela and the two are sister species, indicating that the character of egg ribbon shape may be a synapomorphy for D. gemela and D. behrensi."
